2019 Playoffs: Blazers @ Nuggets Game 2

Portland won but I don't know why they didn't post up Kanter (who's long been very good on the block) way more in the 4th, especially because Jokic had 5 fouls and Enes is their only source of back to the basket scoring. Also, Lillard has to improve his shot selection when he shoots a poor % like tonight (like Kyrie should after his game 2 brick-fest against Milwaukee). Dame didn't get nearly as many layup attempts compared to game 1. Denver's defense deserves credit for that but he can't settle for very contested deep jumpers, including long 2's, too often if he isn't on fire (same goes for Irving). Damian hit OKC's defense, which was pretty damn good, with a steady diet of those kind of shots. And I highly doubt the blazers beat the thunder if he and CJ don't shoot a ridiculously good %, including from 3, considering all the extremely tough jump shots they took. But I give them credit for being as talented as they are, so I'm not diminishing their series win.

2025 Pre Playoffs: Thunder & Rockets

I was right when I said OKC wouldn't make round 3 before the '24 playoffs due to bad rebounding. They were 27th on the boards and got beat by 16 in that category in their season ending loss. Hartenstien, who came in the 2024 offseason, averages 11 of them in 28 min thus the Thunder are 12th on the glass. Their inexperience coming into last year's postseason is gone which is why I think J-Dub will have games of at least 25 points to lighten SGA's load. He failed to do so in the prior postseason. Chet scored over 25 once in that time, 26 points, and I believe he'll play better too. Oklahoma City has the best point differential ever, a great defense, and is led by an MVP candidate (Shai would get my vote). Every aspect of basketball is performed at an elite level by at least 1 player. However, I predict the big skill gap the Lakers big 3 has over OKC's trio will get LA to the finals.
