MUST READ: Harden And The Importance Of The Mid Range Game (March 2020)

Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, and Kawhi Leonard are the best kind of superstar perimeter players in the modern era. The reason why is because they're the most reliable players that are needed to win championships. Despite his standing as the 3rd most talented player offensively of all-time, James Harden (behind Lebron and Durant) doesn't belong on this superstar list because he got rid of his mid-range game. To be elite at sizing up defenders in the mid-range area with jumpers as well as drives to the rim is the most important skill, especially in tight playoff contests where it becomes a lot more of a grind-it-out half-court game. Harden suffers through many inefficient stretches, which become more problematic come postseason time, because he threw away this crucial skill. 3's and layups are the most efficient shots in basketball so they still should be the foundation of an offense. However, being limited to only those shots is extremely risky. ...

The Discouraging Problem With My Basketball Passion (January 2020)

For those on the very off chance who are wondering if I'm pursuing a career in analyzing the NBA, I'm not despite my crazy passion for the league. I know that's pretty shocking considering my social media pages are absolutely flooded with NBA super junkie stuff. I'm trying to get into cardiac rehab or something similar in a hospital-based setting. For years I've been very interested in that so I'm confident I made the right decision. Also medicine might have the highest job demand which is also where my confidence comes from. TV shows and movies dominate entertainment because you can just sit, relax and watch amazing theater basically without having to think and understand to know what's going on. (I'm honestly not being a bitter hater, that's just reality. I know it doesn't seem like it but I've watched A TON of that over the course of my life, and I absolutely love doing so). So the market for people who are very interested in analytical wr...

How All Star Voting Is Done Incorrectly

Bradley Beal not making the all-star game and Chris Paul making it over Devin Booker is a complete joke. I absolutely hate that the media and coaches for years have put way too much emphasis on team success narratives, that NBA "experts" create, and incredibly faulty advanced stats that those experts love to rely on. The PLAYERS, not the teams, represent the all-star game. So a player's performance and talent should get top priority, by far, over how good their team is. It's not Beal's or Booker's fault that their supporting cast is much worse than a team like Paul's.

November 18, 2019: Spurs @ Mavs (End of Game)

WHAT ARE WE DOING? DID WE NOT LEARN FROM GAME 7 ABOUT WHEN TO FOUL? WE JUST GAVE THAT GAME AWAY  🤦‍♀️ . Luka is great but we guarded him basically every time with players that are way too little/skinny (Murray, White, Mills, Forbes) which is why he scored at will. Gay, Lyles, or even Carroll (who strangely started playing in the 4th but whatever) are much better options. Unfortunately none of them are defensive aces, another of one o ur problems. Not having forwards on the perimeter who can slow down a guy like Doncic is very problematic. I'm surprised I didn't develop a drinking problem in the 1st half after I saw Porzingis launch wide open 3 after wide open 3. Too many turnovers. Too many offensive rebounds given up. Patty took an awful 3 late in the 4th that badly hurt our chances of winning.
